Obituary for Fayetta Chancey (Lloyd)

Fayetta Chancey, 82, of DeSoto, went to be with her Lord and Savior in heaven, where she is now rejoicing with her two sons, at 2:45 p.m. Friday, June 14, 2019, at her residence in DeSoto.

Fayetta was born on April 30, 1937, in Marion, Illinois, to Leonard Loyd and Minnie Opal (Gurley) Loyd.

She had worked at both Tom's Place and Bill and Boo's Cafe.

Mrs. Chancey was a former member of the United Methodist Church in DeSoto. Fayetta loved the Lord and to read her bible. When she was not reading her bible, she was doing work search puzzles.

She loved her flowers and yard work, but she also cared for all the animals that might come through her yard. She also loved Jill-Kitty.

Fayetta married James "Jack" Chancey on December 13, 1952, in Murphysboro and he survives.

Other survivors include two children Jack Allen Chancey of DeSoto and Kimberly Smith of Scott City, MO;

seven grandchildren Heather, Jennetta, Robin, Mark C. "Tony", Michael, Toni Lynn, and James Robert;

twenty great grandchildren;

and two sisters Levieta Fred of DeSoto and Mary Davis of Zeigler.

She was preceded in death by two sons Stephan Wayne Chancey and Michael Chancey, one sister Paula Bucholtz and her parents.

Gravesite services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 18, 2019, at DeSoto Cemetery. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery. For more information, please visit www.pettettfuneralhome.com.
